I have worked in a variety of teaching roles for thirty years.  As a Police Officer I taught law to national examination standards and developed students’ communication skills in subjects such as interviewing, effective presentations, leadership and decision making. 

Following my retirement from the Police, Teaching English as a Second Language was an obvious career choice for me as I have spent many years learning Spanish.  I appreciate the motivation for learning a language and I have experienced the obstacles that learners of a second language often face.  I give English lessons to students of all ages, in groups or one-to-one. 

Currently, I teach English at a private language academy near Málaga, Spain where the age range of my students is from 10 years old to adults with levels of ability from A1 beginner to B2 / C1.  I have a good working knowledge of the Cambridge examination curriculum and my students have been very successful at passing these exams.
